Not one of us is going to be able to stand before God one day and give account for how we used the wealth He entrusted to us and say, 'Well you really didn't give me much in Your Word'. Maybe the problem isn't that the Word is not clear enough; maybe the problem is that it's too clear"

"There are all kinds of ways that we have come up with to try and overcome guilt. We convince ourselves, "We have just placed unrealistic expectations on ourselves. Of course we fail and do wrong; but we are only human, and it's unreasonable to expect anything less than that". We lower our expectations so we can lower our level of guilt"
