PRAYER OF SALVATION LIE

In talking about hypocrisy in the church, one of the main issues, and one that I find fault in almost all churches is the fallacy of saying a prayer asking Jesus in your heart and you are saved.

First, I challenge anyone to find a command for a prayer of salvation in Scripture. Also, besides believing in your heart, you will not find any Scripture that says to ask Jesus into your heart. These are phrases that were established by MAN, in the 1800’s. If your basing your salvation on a prayer, then you have not studied Scripture and you are falling into a deception of a man’s belief.

“Yes, but the Bible says all you have to do is believe” - Agreed, but the Biblical definition of believe is far different than the definition taught by the church and believed by so many. James addresses the churches definition but still, the church decides to ignore Scripture and continue in their deception.

James 2:19-20 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe--and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

Merely believing, in that you just have faith that He is real, is absolutely dead if there is no action to back up the belief. What action? This actually hits on the other fallacy creating a church full of hypocrites - Grace only.

While the Grace only teaching is the most popular teaching of the church today, in regards to Salvation, I’ve never talked to anyone who actually knows HOW Grace saves. In fact, I’ve been told that it’s impossible to know. How can it be that, with such a popular message, those who rely on the Grace only message cannot tell me how Grace saves; when it’s written so clearly in Holy Scripture? This is what James addresses, if you merely believe but don’t do anything to support the belief, your belief is dead; because the Grace that saves TEACHES US to DENY UNGODLY AND WORLDY LUST. And it TEACHES US to LIVE SOBERLY, RIGHTEOUSLY, AND GODLY in THIS present world. The denying the ungodliness of sin and denying the covetousness of the things of this world; and living a righteous and godly life (according to SCRIPTURE - not compared to your neighbor) is some of the works that are proof of our belief - it’s obedience to God’s desires for our lives - it’s that reconciliation to which the acts of sin causes the separation. Y’shua - Christ - the one so many claims to follow - said if we do not repent we will perish. Repentance is a change of mind AND action. There has arisen a play on words with repentance, but if one says, “I change my mind, I will not eat any more cake” and two weeks later they eat cake, they had not changed their mind. If one says, “I change my mind, I will not watch any more porn” and they go back to watching porn in a couple weeks, they never really repented.

So what happened? Well, there is a series of deceptions that have led to all this, but we are going to concentrate on the lie at hand: pray and ask Jesus in your heart and you will be saved.

Churches measure their success by the number of people who come through the door or the amount of change that hits the offering plate. If the church puts on an event to try and save souls, they measure the success by the number of people “saved”. In other words, it does not matter if there was an actual change in the person's life, because they measure salvation by a prayer. So, if the person comes up to the front saying, “boo hoo, I’m sorry I got caught; and I don’t want to go to hell” - that is measured as a soul saved; even though they continue in the same life they had beforehand because there was no real conviction of sin.

This started in the great “revival movement” hailed so highly by many pastors today. They said, we need a quick way to measure our success - and a false doctrine of a prayer and ask Jesus in your heart was established.

So, now that a person was told by an authoritative figure, the pastor, that all they have to do is say a prayer and believe, they now think they are saved. Meanwhile, they continue drinking, and toking, and going to strip clubs, among other things. And they do so thinking they are going to Heaven and telling the world they are going to Hell - a hypocrite is born. Does Matthew 7:21-23 not stir anyone anymore?

Matthew 7:21-23 21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' 23 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

While we are on this subject of say a prayer and your “SAVED”. Who says Salvation is immediate? Do we follow Holy Scripture, or do we follow a belief of a denomination or man who has pulled Scripture from context and changed the meaning to mean what HE want’s it to mean? I truly believe, in a nation of churches that teach such a large amount of deception, and except for a few special instances, a person, in America, can not truly be saved unless he studies Scripture. That’s actually a belief held by Martin Luther who introduced the Grace teaching to the church. The Bible says we must put Christ FIRST and we must SEEK Him FIRST. The first aspect to that is a diligent study of Holy Scripture. But in America, we rather blindly believe a man or denomination and play in the things of the world, while ignoring Scripture altogether.

If this lie of say a prayer and your saved was true, and we could legitimately count the number of people “saved” in this manner, out of all the churches, with all the events, claiming so many “saved”, why is it that the church is still in such a backward condition?

The Bible says to believe and you will be saved: YES. But, we see that believing is an action. The Holy Scripture tells us that we must maintain that belief in action until the end THEN we will be saved. - For those New Testament / New Covenant ONLY proclaimers - notice these passages are all New Testament - Some from Christ Himself.

Mark 13:13
And you shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but HE THAT SHALL ENDURE TO THE END, THE SAME SHALL BE SAVED.

Matt 10:22
And you shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but HE THAT ENDURES TO THE END SHALL BE SAVED.

Matt 24:13
But HE THAT SHALL ENDURE UNTO THE END, THE SAME SHALL BE SAVED.

Matt 7:13-14
Enter you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.

Heb 3:6
But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, IF WE HOLD FAST THE CONFIDENCE and the rejoicing of the hope FIRM UNTO THE END.

Heb 3:14
For we are made partakers of Christ, IF WE HOLD THE BEGINNING OF OUR CONFIDENCE STEADFAST UNTO THE END;

Revelation 2:10
be you faithful UNTO DEATH, and I will give you a crown of life.

1 Peter 1:13
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

The fallacy of say a prayer and ask Jesus in your heart is one that has largely created a church full of hypocrites who believe they are saved and going to Heaven. This teaching, now a belief, was established for our own pride - so we can see how successful WE are, based on the numbers.

If you are basing your salvation on a belief that you said a prayer, you asked Jesus in your heart, you believe He’s real, you are better than your neighbor, then I implore you to study Holy Scripture. Find out WHY Christ said there will be so many who will THINK they are saved but will be rejected. That was not pointed at any specific denomination, that’s statement was pointed at a specific action or characteristic of the individual.
