BIBLICAL EXAMINATION OF LAODICEA PEOPLE? - PART 12/19

A Self-Examination so that we can come into a closer walk that God desires us to be at.

LUKEWARM PEOPLE will serve God and others to a limit. There is only so far they are willing to go or how much time, money, and energy they are willing to give.

Luke 18:21-25
21 And he said, "All these things I have kept from my youth." 22 So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me." 23 But when he heard this, he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich. 24 And when Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, He said, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God! 25 For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

BIBLICAL EXAMINATION OF LAODICEA PEOPLE? - PART 11/19

A Self-Examination so that we can come into a closer walk that God desires us to be at.

LUKEWARM PEOPLE love others, but not really as much as they love themselves. Their love of others is focused on those who love them in return; and there is little love left over for those who can't love them back. There is especially no love for those who intentionally hurt them, whose children are better athletes, with who has a nicer car, or with those that conversations are awkward or uncomfortable. Their love is HIGHLY conditional and very selective, and generally comes with strings. They will not allow themselves to be put into an uncomfortable position, or allow hinderances in their desires or schedule, so that it could help someone else out. Read More…

BIBLICAL EXAMINATION OF LAODICEA PEOPLE? - PART 10/19

A Self-Examination so that we can come into a closer walk that God desires us to be at.

LUKEWARM PEOPLE love God, but they do not love Him with all their heart, mind, and strength. They are quick to try and convince people they love God that much; but inside, they believe that sort of total devotion isn't really possible for the average person; it's only for pastors and missionaries and radicals.

Matthew 22:37-38
37 Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 This is the first and great commandment.

BIBLICAL EXAMINATION OF LAODICEA PEOPLE? - PART 9/19

A Self-Examination so that we can come into a closer walk that God desires us to be at.

LUKEWARM PEOPLE say they love Jesus and He is a part of their life. But they can't explain how they show their love for Y'shua, and He is only a PART of their life. They give him a portion of their time, money, and thoughts, but He's not allowed to be first; nor control their lives.

Luke 9:57-62
57 Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, "Lord, I will follow You wherever You go." 58 And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head." 59 Then He said to another, "Follow Me." But he said, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father." 60 Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God." 61 And another also said, "Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house." 62 But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."

BIBLICAL EXAMINATION OF LAODICEA PEOPLE? - PART 8/19

A Self-Examination so that we can come into a closer walk that God desires us to be at.

LUKEWARM PEOPLE judge their "goodness" by comparing themselves to the secular world rather than Holy Scripture. They feel satisfied that while they're not as "hard-core" for Christ as so-and-so, they are nowhere as horrible as the guy down the road.

2 Corinthians 10:12
12 For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

Luke 18:11-12
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men--extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.'

A Self-Examination so that we can come into a closer walk that God desires us to be at.

LUKEWARM PEOPLE rarely share their faith with their neighbors, coworkers, or friends. They are afraid of being rejected and don't want people to feel uncomfortable by talking about religion.

Matthew 10:32-33
32 "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.

BIBLICAL EXAMINATION OF LAODICEA PEOPLE? - PART 6/19

A Self-Examination so that we can come into a closer walk that God desires us to be at.

LUKEWARM CHRISTIANS are moved by stories about people who do radical things for Christ, but they don't think they need to. They assume such actions are not for the average Christian; and they feel (when they read Scripture) that what Jesus expects of His followers is "radical".
