IF WE BELIEVED WHAT THE BIBLE SAID - #8

In Isaiah chapter 58 God is telling his people that they’re fasting doesn’t mean anything if you have no concern for the poor.

In Matthew chapter 25 Yeshua says if you do not feed the hungry or clothe the naked you will go to hell. The Jesus that we say we worship says this.

He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker,
But he who honors Him has mercy on the needy
(Proverbs 14:31 NKJV)

Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor
Will also cry himself and not be heard
(Proverbs 21:13 NKJV)

If you shut your ears to the cry of the poor, you pray and God does not hear you. You ignore the poor, go to Church on Sunday and sing songs to God, and the pray, God does not hear you.
He who gives to the poor will not lack,
But he who hides his eyes will have many curses
(Proverbs 28:27 NKJV)
Cursed for ignoring the poor.

20 Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said:
“ Blessed are you poor,
For yours is the kingdom of God.
21 Blessed are you who hunger now,
For you shall be filled
“ But woe to you who are rich,
For you have received your consolation.
25 Woe to you who are full,
For you shall hunger
(Luke 6:20-21, 24-25 NKJV)

Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you
(James 5:1 NKJV)

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “ Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven
(Matthew 19:23 NKJV)

According to the World Bank, if you make $20,000 or more you are in the top 7.5% of the richest people in the world. That's an income of $20,000, an amount that we consider to be poverty in America, you make 14 times more money than the average income. If you live in America, chances are you are rich; and Y’shua said it’s hard for a rich man to go to Heaven. Do you get this? If it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven, And we are rich,Yeshua is saying it is hard for an American to go to Heaven.

If the love of Christ is not in someone, there’s question on whether Christ is in them.

If the truth of Christ is not in someone (if they are speaking things that are apposed to Scripture) we have to question whether Christ is in them.

If someone is walking in disobedient, persistent sin (not turning from sin) , based upon the authority of Scripture, there is question on whether that person is saved.

And When we look at scripture, from cover to cover of this Bible, we see that’s God measures our integrity of faith by our concern for the poor. No concern for the poor, no integrity of faith.

About 200 years ago there were men who professed to be Christians, yet owned people. We look back at these men and wonder, how they could have been so blind? I wonder if, 200 it years from now, people with look back on us and wonder, how could they have had so much stuff and be so blind to the poor?

If we believe what the Bible says would we have such a blind spot in that we could easily forget about the millions that are going hungry and the thousands that are dying daily from starvation while we live in our affluence? If we believe what the Bible says, would we have a concern about our lack of concern for the poor?
