PARILOUS TIMES

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be... lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness”
2 Tim 3:1-5

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
1 John 2:15

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot:... because you are lukewarm,... I will spit you out of my mouth. Because you think, I am rich, and increased with goods; and know not that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:... anoint your eyes with eye-salve, that you mayest see.”
Rev 3:15-18

Why can’t the church see what is so clearly written? The people of the second beast have created an image that all worship. Can’t we see that loving, and spending more time in, the things of the world is an abomination to God? We stand, still guilty, because we play the harlot; sleeping with the things of this world while our groom tarries.

We would not accept our behavior in our marriage; yet we accept it in our spiritual engagement. Over and over Christ used marriage as an example to the way our relationship is to be with Him; yet we continue to play the bad spouse who sleeps around, leaving Him alone.

When are we going to wake up? When are we going to be involved in this marriage? Shall we continue to treat our marriage of Christ in the same manner, of the same pattern, we see in this life?
