SALT OF THE EARTH

Matt 5:13
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men”

When Daniel was given a diet to eat, which was contrary to the commands of God, he refused; even though it could cost him is life. When he was confronted with a civil law that forbade him to pray, he boldly refused to follow that law; even though it could cost him is earthly life. When Stephen was confronted by religious leaders demanding religious laws that were contrary to God, he refused and rebuked the leaders for their apostasy against Holy Scripture; even though it would cost him his earthly life.

There are many great men in the Bible who were persecuted for their stand against both civil and religious law that was against God; these men were persecuted. We are told that those who stand for Christ will be persecuted (2 Tim 3:12).

Is that what we are seeing today? No! There’s no stand for our religious rights, only complaining on Facebook and Twitter. In fact, I dare to say that most, being more than 95%, who complain on Facebook and Twitter do absolutely nothing else to try and make changes to what they are complaining about.

Few deny that the church looks like 2 Tim 3:1-7, this means the church has lost it’s flavor. The church, in America, is not being persecuted; we’re being “trampled underfoot by men”.

It’s time we separate ourselves from this world, study Scripture and see what it says; then live by it. For while we look like the world, act like the world, talk like the world, and conform to the world; whether civil or religious, we’ve lost our flavor. Let’s become a special people that stands out among the rest.
