WEDDING CEREMONY PRACTICE

seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
Hebrews 4:5-6

This year, my wife and I celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We were married by the justice of the peace the first time and I made miserable mistakes through the marriage; as one who was unsaved. We are looking at renewing our vows as two new born people entering into a newborn covenant with each other also, with Yeshua in the middle. We were talking to a pastor friend about a possible wedding and noted it would be very small. Since we are each others very best friend, we may walk with each other down the isle. I asked if there would be any need of a practice, as it will be such a small wedding. The pastor said that practice is mainly for the wedding party, so they have it right.

Hebrews 4:5-6 is often used to try and support the Law being gone, being a shadow and example. But in context, it's the temple system that is the example, with all involved from the priests, the laws, the rituals, the rewards, and the likes. The whole temple system on earth was a shadow of the one which is in heaven, it was based on the pattern that was shown to Moses.

A shadow is not the real thing. In order to have a shadow, there must be a real thing, and a light source. An example is not the real thing either, it's a practice to what the real thing will look like.

Yeshua always used the wedding ceremonies, of the Jewish traditions, to describe the relationship with the church; all the way up to the wedding day. May try to write off the Tabernacle system and say it is gone. Actually, we are in the real one today, as that old testament system was just practice. Some understand this truth, but that is far as it goes; there's no further study for understanding of what the system means to us.

You see, most try to reason their lack of study of the system as Christ taking its place, but it was practice for the wedding party. Each year there was a practice of the events that were to be taking place in the Tabernacle in Heaven. While the wedding party, the bride mainly, would practice over and over each year, it was a practice of the one revolution of the temple ceremony in heaven.

Are we ignoring the practice? Are we going to be off cue on the wedding day? Are we off cue today? We don't really know if we are off cue, unless we study that system. We don't really know we are off cue if we don't pick up the manual that shows us the practice period. The Word of God, BOTH Old and New Testaments, is so important, so that we are not the one at the wedding without the wedding garments (Matt 22:1-13).
