WHAT IS AIR?

We owe every breath to God. Now, many know this and some say it, but do we realize by how much this statement is true? I want to show you something that I pray will move you as it does me.

We all know that God breathed into man, and man became a living soul (Gen 2:7)

The Hebrew word for “breathed” is “sama”; from 5395; a puff, WIND, angry or vital breath, divine inspiration, INTELLECT., inspiration, soul, SPIRIT.

In Holy Scripture, the Spirit of Elohim is described as air and wind; when the Spirit moves, there is a rushing wind. God’s Spirit, wind, air, has power, life, and force behind it. It is an intellect that He give us (Ezekiel 36:26-27).

Ecclesiastes 12:7 “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it.”

“Spirit” here comes from the Hebrew word "ruah"; from 7306; WIND; by resemblance breath, life, A REGION OF THE SKY; by resemblance spirit, but only of a rational being (including its expression and functions): — air, anger, blast, BREATH,

Understanding that this passage is not talking about a “spirit” as we’ve been taught, because this word means only a “RESEMBLANCE SPIRIT”, in that the life of a rational being in it’s thoughts, expressions, and functions; we see this word is pointing at our breath. But notice this, it also points at a “region of the sky”.

Genesis 1:1-2
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth... And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”

The “Spirit” of God here comes from the Hebrew word “ruah”. That’s right, the same word by which the “spirit” returns to it’s source. When God created the earth, His life giving breath that has all power and knowledge, covered the planet. It’s His breath, which created life within man, and it’s HIS breath which will return to it’s source: that which covers the face of the planet.

By seeing these truths, I have no reason to believe any different in that the very air we breath is the Spirit of God, His breath, and we owe every breath to Him.
