WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE

Deuteronomy 29:5-6
"And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet. You have not eaten bread, nor have you drunk wine or similar drink, that you may know that I am the Lord your God."

The church today feels that we should not go through wilderness times in our lives. I’m not sure where they get that from Scripture. They act like wilderness times is like a punishment, but it's a growing period for us. I read that God WILL TAKE US INTO wilderness times, but He will not leave us. He will provide for us so what we can know who He is - Jehovah Jireh. When I read Scripture, I read that He shows Himself while we are with the lions, and He walks with us when we are in the fire. And because we know God, we will fear no evil when we are in that valley.

Don’t fret the hard times, that wilderness you may go through. It was by the wandering in the wilderness that God purified Himself a people; weeding out the rebellious, preparing them for the promised land. Take faith in the pruning of the Great Vinedresser, and allow the work to be done. Dig into His Word more than ever, and see what it is He wants pruned from your life, the rebellion He wants gone to perfect a relationship with Him.

So, as you go through your wildernesses, don't grumble as those who were weeded out in the wilderness, but give praises to God, and allow Him to release the chains and open the gates. Believe that He knows what is best, turn over your life to Him - ALL of it; believe what He promised he will do - This is Faith.
